PERSONAL SAFETY:
- All Pilots must be certified by one (1) Instructor before flying solo. Only Instructors may teach Novices.
- Do not taxi all the way back to the pit area, stop after clearing the runway ramps.
- Do not fly over the pit area, parking area, or the designated NO FLY ZONES. (See website).
- Do not fly under the influence of alcohol and /or form of drugs.
- No illegal drugs are allowed on the premises. No alcohol is allowed on the premises.
RADIO SAFETY:
- This applies to the old 72 mega hertz radios and receivers. Transmitters must not be turned on unless the proper frequency number has been cleared by the Safety Officer or the other pilots present at the field. If in doubt ask!
- Transmitters must display the proper frequency numbers and red streamer.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND COURTESY:
- Pilots must belong to the Academy of Model Aeronautics and present the AMA card upon request by any club member, and / or before flying.
- Guest pilots may use the field six (6) times during the year, or must join Foothill Flyers within one (1) month of their first visit as a pilot. Guest pilots may fly only when a Foothill member is present.
- Pilots should stand in the area of the flight stations.
- No engine running before 8 am, except for schedule events.
- Open exhaust will not be allowed on any 2 or 4 stroke engine over .10 cu in., except a pilot may finish the day if a muffler is lost or broken.
- Only AMA members are allowed in the pit area or past any warning signs, unless accompanied by an instructor.
- Runway right-of-way is as follows: NOTICE: Our field is a Full Scale Airstrip. Therefore All Manned Aircraft always have the right-of-way. When any Manned Aircraft are taking off or landing All RC Pilots must land immediately or as soon as safely possible.
- Runway right-of-way for RC pilots is as follows:
- 1st -- Dead stick landings
- 2nd-- Normal landings
- 3rd-- Hand launch take-offs
- 4th --Normal Take-off
- Courtesy:
- Call out for low passes, take-offs, landings, emergencies, or if walking on the runway.
- Direct your exhaust away from spectators and other pilot’s equipment.
- Move to the right end of the pit area for extended engine running.
- PICK UP YOUR TRASH, including used rubber bands, and keep the field neat. Report any broken field equipment to the Secretary.
- Watch your language around spectators, women, and children.
